"Can Die For Country": Arvind Kejriwal After BJP Vandalism At Home

He said the BJP should not get involved in such acts of violence as it was sending a false message to the youth of the nation.

New Delhi: A day after the devastation and violence in his area, Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said he could die for the country. The Aam Aadmi Party yesterday said the BJP was trying to assassinate Mr Kejriwal because it could not defeat him in the election.

"Kejriwal is not important, this country is important. I would die for the country," he said in an e-autos launch program in Delhi, while training his guns at BJP. The Prime Minister of Delhi added that the country's largest party (BJP) should not engage in such slavery as it sends a negative message to the youth of the nation.

BJP staff on Wednesday clashed with police outside Mr Kejriwal's house during a protest rally against his recently released film "The Kashmir Files".

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday appealed to the Delhi High Court to seek the constitutional guidance of a special investigative team to conduct an independent, fair and timely criminal investigation into attacks and perpetrators.

Breaking his silence with violence, Mr Kejriwal said, "We must bring the country forward together, spend 75 years fighting." He added that the country would not prosper in this "chaos" and that everyone would have to work together peacefully in 21st century India.

BJP leaders have accused Mr Kejriwal of making fun of the "Kashmiri" Hindu genocide shown in the film. Members of Baratiya Janata Yuva Morcha yesterday stormed the home of Delhi's former prime minister when they quelled a riot by police, threw red paint on the gate, damaged a CCTV camera, and broke a bar outside his house.

The police said that around 150-200 protestors of BJP Yuva Morcha had reached the CM's residence around 11:30 in the morning to protest against his remarks on 'The Kashmir Files' in the Delhi assembly. They claim that they "immediately" removed the troublemakers from the spot and detained around 70 people. Legal action is being initiated, they said.

Responding to a request from Delhi BJP lawmakers to announce the film "The Kashmir Files" has no tax in the country's capital, Arvind Kejriwal joked that it should be included in the free YouTube video sharing forum.

"They say make Kashmir Files tax-free. Well, put it on YouTube and it will be free," Mr Kejriwal said during a laugh and a desk blast by members of the Delhi convention.
